On this page

No Graveyard Keeper 2 weapon or armour has been named by the developers, and no stat has been published. This page will not produce a tier list or an equipment table from nothing.

What is confirmed is how equipment works structurally — and that structure is more useful than a stat table would be, because it tells you what to build before the game even ships.

What is confirmed about equipment?

Two sentences from official sources cover it.

The store page: "Build towers and fortifications, craft powerful armour and weapons, arm and train your not-so-smart troops, and slash your way to victory!"

The zombie devlog: your zombies fight best when "equipped with the finest weapons and armor".

Three facts follow directly:

  1. Equipment is crafted. The verb is "craft", not "find", "loot" or "buy".
  2. Equipment is for your troops, not only for you. You "arm and train" your zombies.
  3. Quality matters. The phrase "the finest weapons and armor" implies tiers.

Everything else — names, slots, materials, tiers, stats, durability, and whether the Keeper has personal gear — is unconfirmed.

Why crafted equipment changes how you play

This is the single most actionable point on the page.

Because weapons and armour are crafted, your army's combat power is a production statistic, not a combat statistic. A stronger army is the output of a better factory, not of better reflexes.

That has concrete consequences:

  • Combat upgrades compete with economic upgrades for the same inputs. Iron that becomes a sword is iron that did not become a machine part.
  • Your equipment ceiling is your production ceiling. If a recipe needs an input you cannot yet make, the fix is upstream in zombie automation, not on the battlefield.
  • The Technology Tree likely gates tiers. Which nodes unlock which equipment is unconfirmed, but the tree is confirmed as the game's main progression gate — see the technology tree guide.

How to plan equipment production

You can do the maths now, before any numbers exist, because equipment is just another crafting chain.

The recipe calculator takes a target item and quantity and expands it into a complete raw material tree — including the rounding from partial batches. Once you know what a full squad's kit costs, you know whether your current production can realistically equip it.

For sustained equipment output rather than one-off crafting, use the production calculator: enter the armour or weapon step with its cycle time, set a target rate, and it returns the station count and the raw material bill per minute and per hour.

That is how you answer the real question — can I re-equip my army after a loss? — before you need to.

How equipment relates to zombie quality

Equipment and zombie corruption are separate levers that multiply rather than add.

  • Corruption (red skulls) determines how good a zombie's skills can become. That is the zombie's own ceiling. See the zombie workers guide.
  • Equipment is the external multiplier on top of that ceiling.

So the optimal routing is to give your best equipment to your most corrupted, longest-serving zombies — the ones whose skill ceiling is actually high enough to use it. Giving top-tier armour to a low-corruption zombie wastes both the armour and the slot.

Equipment versus fortifications

It is worth separating two very different defensive investments, because the game does:

InvestmentTypeWhat it does
Weapons and armourMobile, consumed by your armyRaises offensive and defensive power in field battles
Towers and fortificationsStatic, built into the TownMakes reclaimed districts habitable and holdable

Both are confirmed. Both cost production. The right balance depends on whether you are currently pushing into new districts (favour equipment) or holding and restoring what you have (favour fortifications). See the combat guide.

What is still unknown

Item names, equipment slots, material requirements, tier structure, stat values, durability or repair, whether the Keeper has personal equipment distinct from troop equipment, and whether equipment is lost when a zombie falls. All unconfirmed.

FAQ

Are there named weapons in Graveyard Keeper 2?

None have been published. Any named weapon list before launch is speculation.

Do I equip myself or only my troops?

Both are indicated — you "slash your way to victory" and you "arm and train your troops" — but the exact split is unconfirmed.

Can equipment break?

Unconfirmed. No durability or repair system has been confirmed.

Is equipment bought from the Town?

Unconfirmed. The Town is confirmed to unlock "valuable products and resources for you to buy", but equipment is specifically described as crafted.

Will this page get a stat table?

Yes — once there is verified in-game data to fill it with. Not before.
