Источники и достоверность

On this page

No individual Graveyard Keeper 2 quest has been revealed, so there is no walkthrough to write yet — and this page will not invent one. What is confirmed is how quests are structured and, more importantly, a scheduling change that will catch out every returning player.

How quests are structured

The store page describes it in one sentence: you "complete quests throughout the city, as your undead workers take care of the heavy lifting behind the scenes".

That sentence defines the role of questing in the loop. Quests are the thing that pulls you out of your base; automation is the thing that makes leaving safe. If your production collapses every time you go questing, you are not ready to quest — you are ready to build more zombie capacity.

It also tells you where quests live: the city. The Town is the dense quest space, while the surrounding wilderness is the resource space. See the map guide for the confirmed area list.

The scheduling change: no more weekly Village visits

This is the single most practically useful confirmed fact on this page.

In the original Graveyard Keeper, a common complaint was that important quest characters visited the Village from the Town only once a week. Miss the day and you lost a week of progress.

The developers addressed it directly: "Now that the Town is actually part of the game, there is nowhere mysterious for them to arrive from. They will usually remain at their regular locations."

But — and this is the part to note — they immediately added: "However, we still want you to plan your week carefully, so certain mechanics connected to these characters will only be available on their designated days."

So the fix is partial by design:

Characters visit the Village once a weekCharacters usually remain at their regular locations
Missing the day costs a full weekSome mechanics are still restricted to designated days

The practical upshot: you will spend far less time hunting for NPCs, but you should still keep a weekly plan. Which characters, which days, and which mechanics are gated are all unconfirmed.

How to plan around confirmed quest structure

Since no quest list exists, plan around the loop rather than the content:

  1. Front-load automation before long quest stretches. Quests are only free time if production is self-running. See zombie automation.
  2. Batch city errands. Characters now stay put, so the cost of doing several Town tasks in one trip is much lower than it was in the original game.
  3. Keep a written weekly schedule. Day-gated mechanics are confirmed to exist. Note which character offers what on which day as soon as you learn it.
  4. Do not abandon the graveyard for quest chains. Burials remain your core duty and income.

How quests connect to Town restoration

Quests and restoration are two views of the same city. The Town is "nearly abandoned" and overrun by the undead; you reclaim it district by district, and you help the townsfolk "restore their homes and turn their problems into revenue".

That latter phrase is effectively the quest design statement: Town quests are resident problems, and solving them is both progression and revenue. It also explains why the developers describe the Town's real problem as "hopelessness… and a lack of consumer goods" — the quests are the demand side of your economy.

Read the town restoration guide alongside this page; they cover the same space from different angles.

What to record once you start

Quest data is the slowest content to appear in any wiki, because it requires actually playing. If you want a usable record fast, capture:

  1. Quest giver and their fixed location.
  2. Which day any gated interaction is available.
  3. Prerequisite — Town district, Tech Tree node, or story beat.
  4. Reward type — money, relationship, unlock, or item.
  5. Whether it is repeatable.

Fields 2 and 3 are the ones players forget, and they are the ones that determine whether a blocked quest is a timing problem or a progression problem.

What is still unknown

Everything content-specific. Quest names, givers, chains, counts, rewards, day assignments, and whether there are missable or timed quests are all unconfirmed. The main story structure has deliberately not been revealed — the developers said only that it is "difficult to tell you about the story without spoiling it".

FAQ

Is there a main quest?

Yes, but nothing about its structure has been revealed beyond the framing: you are the Grand Inquisitor saving the realm from a zombie apocalypse.

Are there missable quests?

Unconfirmed. No fail states or time limits have been confirmed.

Do I have to wait for specific days?

Partly. Confirmed: certain mechanics connected to quest characters are only available on their designated days, even though the characters themselves now stay in place.

Can I quest while my zombies work?

That is the intended design. The official description says your undead workers "take care of the heavy lifting behind the scenes" while you complete quests.

Do I need to have played the original game to follow the story?

No. The developers wrote the sequel to be understandable for players starting with Graveyard Keeper 2.
